The HIAB X-HIPRO 548 E-9 loader crane has been installed on a Volvo FH 460 8x4 truck. The crane is factory-equipped with an integrated Rotzler Ti4 winch with a maximum rated pulling force of 3,500 kg. For the customer, who provides transport and lifting services, it was essential to combine high lifting capacity, long reach, precise control and reliability.

The HIAB X-HIPRO 548 E-9 is a new-generation loader crane featuring an advanced electronic control system that delivers increased lifting capacity, faster operating speeds and smooth, precise handling, even when working with heavier loads.

• The crane has a maximum horizontal hydraulic outreach of 21.8 metres.

• The crane is equipped with 9 hydraulic boom extensions.

These features provide the operator with excellent flexibility for a wide range of lifting and installation tasks.

HIAB FRAMEWORKS - When installing the HIAB X-HIPRO 548 E-9 on the truck, we used HIAB's comprehensive FrameWorks subframe system. This CE-certified solution is designed in accordance with EN 12999 and EN 13001 standards, enabling the crane's capabilities and stability systems to be utilised to their full potential. The industrially manufactured, robot-welded subframe provides the required torsional and bending rigidity while helping to reduce the loads imposed by the crane on the chassis of the base vehicle.

SPACE EVO - The crane is controlled by the SPACE EVO electronic system, which integrates essential functions into one reliable platform. The system ensures precise crane control, supports safe operation, and simplifies maintenance and fault diagnosis.

HIAB's ADC, ASC and PFD solutions help maximise the crane's performance. When used together, ASC and PFD enable the HIAB HiPro system to deliver up to 15% greater lifting capacity and 5% higher productivity.

• ADC (Automatic Duty Control) enables increased lifting capacity without changing the crane's structural design.

• ASC (Automatic Speed Control) adjusts the crane's operating speed according to the load, allowing the available power to be used more efficiently.

• PFD ensures the proportional distribution of hydraulic oil flow between different functions operating simultaneously, resulting in smooth and precise crane movements.

• ADO (Automatic Dumping of Oil) helps reduce fuel consumption and prevent hydraulic oil overheating by automatically diverting the oil to the return line when the crane is idle.

WORKPLACE SAFETY - A range of systems and features contribute to safe crane operation, including:

• Electronic overload protection.

• 90% load warning and overload warning.

• Emergency stop button.

• Outrigger position sensors and warning signals.

• In-cab high-boom warning.

• STOP buttons.

• VSL PLUS stability control system – monitors the actual position and load of the outriggers and adjusts the crane's permitted operating capacity accordingly. This helps maximise the available lifting capacity while maintaining the required stability.

• LSS-V system – helps prevent sudden vertical movements of the crane, ensuring smoother and more controlled operation.
